In our previous two posts we talked about indoor and outdoor pollution. It seemed like you all were interested in this topic and enjoyed reading about it. Therefore, we would like to share this interesting video of outdoor air pollution in New Delhi with you!

In Delhi the amount of PM2.5 in the air is very high. On November 4th, 2019 the air quality in Delhi was 500 PM2.5/10, which is of scale. This is 25 times worse than for example Toronto. New Delhi is therefore the most polluted capital in the world. The video shows that the high levels of air pollution caused schools to close and the amount of cars on the roads to be controlled. In addition, it explains that after inhalation, PM2.5 can enter the bloodstream, which causes multiple negative health outcomes, as explained in our previous blog posts. The video also touches on the main drivers of air pollution, including burning of crops for new harvest, urban pollution (car and factory emission) and the celebration of diwali with fireworks for days.

With this video we hope to give you a clearer view on air pollution in India!
