1. Using rounded corners for widgets

Rounded corners gets the job done with a beautiful rounding instead of sharp widgets. They make the design a lot better and they are considered a trend in the UI design these couple of years. Try setting the rounding radius to 60 px. It will really look amazing.

2. Simplicity

You don't want a lot of clutter and icons on your home screen, do you ? So you shouldn't want in your project. Website or app, it should be simple, and be easy for the users to know what to do and where to click. Don't add too many icons and text. The users will just get confused and might just leave.

3. Use shadows, colors, and make your project interactive.

Ahh... Beautiful colors, good organisation, and shadows.. what’s better for a design than to contain these awesome elements. Of course you can stick to your own accent color, but hey ! More colors would help the users distinguish between different elements.

Good function-explanation and usage of colors.

4. Include light and dark themes

Light theme was the most popular since nearly 2013 or 2014 in Android development, but it used much battery power and harmed the eyes specially at night. Using dark theme is much better, it helps reduce battery usage on Oled screens and it is really comfortable for the eyes. So don't forget adding it to your nice project !

5. Let the user know what he is supposed to do.

You are sitting, on your sofa, you use an app/website. You don't know what you are supposed to do or where to press, you press anything, you find yourself in other screen, you are still confused, you press the home button. What a terrible story ! To prevent this from happening to your app/website for real, please explain for the user where to press, what he should do and what he could do. Include tutorials, a clear design and of course, a special design for buttons ! Popular designs for buttons are ghost buttons, UPPERCASE buttons, rounded-corners button, e.t.c.

Cool explanation, the user now knows what he is supposed to do.

6. Use gradients and illustrations

Gradients are just cool in how this blending of a color that changes from a color to a color smoothly in your eyes. They look minimalistic and very well designed.
