All You Need Is Love: The Love Chapter
PURSUE LOVE
A lecturer, when I was in Bible College, who had been a Missionary, told us of a circumstance she knew of where an Evangelist or Pastor had only one page of the Bible. It may have been in a remote jungle somewhere, or in a Communist Country where Bible’s were banned. I cannot remember the details. If I remember her story correctly this Minister preached for a long time from that one page of the Bible, The people came to Jesus, and grew in the faith, from the teaching springing from just that one page of the Bible.
1 Corinthians 13 is the chapter on love in the Bible. In my opinion you could live a successful Christian life if all you had of the Bible is that one chapter. To understand that, we have to recognize that love in the Bible is nothing like the general idea of love in the World. The original Amplified Bible, somewhere in the chapter has ‘Love (God’s love in us)’. Apostle John hints at a successful Christian life through love. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16)
The New Testament confirms all Christians have this love. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Romans 5:5) It is at that point we need to educate…
