Do not be anxious about anything
There is so much going on in the world these days. In Canada, we have an election coming up on April 28 and all parties are campaigning for our vote.
Donald Trump and his tariffs are playing a major role in the campaigns. They are wreaking havoc throughout the world. Unfortunately, being America’s closest friend and ally does not make you immune from Trump’s over-the-top plans.
Currently, stock markets are down throughout the world. Canada, China, the European Union, and others are enforcing reciprocal tariffs and trade wars are underway. In Canada, grocery and automobile prices are up, and many are concerned about their jobs, especially in the auto and steel industries. China has placed tariffs on Canadian fish. It’s a mess.
As Christians, we are not to fret or worry but to remember the promises given to us by our Lord.
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:31–33 ESV)
