Believing God
A Model for True Believers
Romans 4:17 (KJV)
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
I noticed that the Bible doesn’t say Abraham believed in God but that he believed God. The question of God’s existence wasn’t on the table.
God is. There is no doubt.
He speaks. There is no question.
The only question then is whether Abraham would believe what God said. This then is the same question put to you and to me. Arguments for or against the existence of God are irrelevant. There has never been a moment in the recorded history of mankind that men have not known God is. In every part of the world, and in every culture, it matters not whether it is Western or Eastern Civilization. It transcends into the superpower nations and the third world countries. Educated people and uneducated people alike have instinctively known God is.
The question has never been whether we believe in God. The question is whether we believe God. And this question accounts for all the differing ideas about God. Consider Cain and Abel. Neither man questioned the existence of God, but one believed God while the other did not. Over 6,000 years…
