BELSHAZZAR’S PARTY TRICK: HE NEEDED A STRONGER SPHINCTER

Be careful what you ask for.

Trigger alert: If you have read any other of my posts and it is not obvious that I’m an industrial strength, hard core, born-from-above Christian, I’m an even worse blogger than I thought.

Key Words: The Dove, Belshazzr, prophecy, Atheism

Introduction

An enigma of the Medium platform is that the Christianity and Bible streams are overpopulated by hypersensitive Atheists — Free Thinkers who seem to have a reflex intellectual muscle-memory to exercise hostility toward any concept of the God of the Bible.

The subliminal message never wanes. It is a defiant — Let this god show himself to me!

I suppose this seems a safe bet for anyone who describes God as nothing. But believing something doesn’t exist is not plausible evidence that it doesn’t — no matter how hard one concentrates.

Would it be a pleasant experience if God called the bluff and showed up?

There is a record of such an event. It is written in the Old Testament so the Enlightened Intelligentsia are likely to poo-poo the idea. It is my prayer that they open their eyes but the choice is theirs.

Nevertheless, read Daniel 5 for the background of Belshazzar’s Writing on the Wall incident. It takes 4–5 minutes and would be a life saver — but the choice remains yours.

Within the Chapter it is written in Daniel 5:6║Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.(KJV)

Joints of his loins were loosed,” is an Elizabethan English euphemism of a Hebraism meaning, “Loss of sphincter control.” Putting it as gently as I know how, that means he soiled his own underpants and his knees trembled. (I couldn’t resist the poo-poo pun.)

Do I expect an Atheist to believe this account? Sadly not; but in the end it is between them and God. There is the belief that their opinion of God is important but they will find out that God’s opinion of them carries much more weight. The Good News (Gospel) is that He is ALWAYS ready to offer Grace. The Bad News [Is there a word for this?] is that they can harden their heart so much that they can’t recognise the offer.

What advice would a Child of God offer?

Be careful what you ask for.

Be prepared.

Humble yourself, repent and call upon the name of God.

What advice would an Atheist offer?

Be prepared.

Stock up on the necessities. Prey it doesn’t happen during a Covid Panic.

Work out at the gym to strengthen your sphincter.

God doesn’t practice Management by Ambush.

He gives lots of warnings. It’s called Prophecy.

Belshazzar’s embarrassment was Prophesied about 150 years earlier in Isaiah 45:1║Thus saith the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have strengthened, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;(KJV)

Unfortunately, the grandeur of Isaiah’s high and lofty language has been (is being) dumbed-down. A rendition of loosed loins in the modern vernacular, that could even be understood by a modern graduate of Yale Divinity School, could go along the lines:-

BE PREPARED TO KISS YOUR ARSE GOODBYE.

UNFORTUNATELY, THIS IS NO JOKE!

The forgoing evidence has not been presented to convince any reader but to allow a personal decision to be made. There is much more to know about this subject. All Glory to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
