I’ve spent many sleepless nights until I discovered the power of rest in God’s love and promises.

“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” — Proverbs 3:24 (NIV)

Brian Simmon’s poetic The Passion Translation is one of my favorites and puts the proverb in these words:

“You will sleep like a baby, safe and sound — your rest will be sweet and secure.” — Proverbs 3:24 (TPT)

It’s not that I don’t have to deal with “night worries” anymore. But, I now know the path that leads to rest. The path that works. I’d like to share it with you:

Embrace the Promise

“When you lie down, you will not be afraid.” The world and our circumstances can be overwhelming, especially when the world feels chaotic. But God assures us that we don’t have to be afraid.

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)

God is our protector. He watches over us, allowing us to rest without fear. Trusting in this promise can transform our nights from restlessness to restfulness.
