Are you wishing you could feel closer to God? You're not alone!

I've assembled an essential primer for you to understand the power of grateful thoughts through new hearts.

Acknowledge that good comes from God.

  • Christians know that every perfect gift comes down from above. Direct your gratitude to God. Troublesome, maybe, but children are a gift from God.
  • Whatever is good and positive, please give thanks for it. God is the provider of all goodness. It is good to have electricity. Some don't.
  • And we know that all things work together for good by God for God. If there are things you're not happy about, they will be good by the time God finishes with them!

Feeling an invisible God

So many Christians wonder why they don't feel naturally close to God. It's because we don't experience emotions of closeness based on the physical senses per se. So, we tend not to equate God personally with the reality of our everyday lives. When we acknowledge God's goodness towards us and thank Him with our minds, feelings of closeness are generated in us.

  • Christians are new creations. We have new hearts in Jesus. You already ARE close to God, but the ways we are accustomed to feeling are now different.
  • The world lives by physical feelings and emotions to discern closeness.
  • The justified, that's us, shall live by faith. We can feel close to God emotionally, by faith. Christians are in Christ. You can't get any closer than that.

Conclusion

It won't be instantaneous, but you will be happier and feel closer to God if you spend a few minutes each day giving thanks to God for the abundance of blessings in your life. Jesus gave you the right to Talk to God, so go ahead and do it if you have any issues with gratitude.

This is a good resource for further information.
