There are many times when our lives just feel lousy.

No matter how hard we try, things don’t go our way.

Our lives aren’t going to be easy.

If our existence were perfect, we wouldn’t see our need for God.

If life went smoothly, we would think we could rely on ourselves.

Here are three Biblical truths to hold onto when life doesn’t feel good:

1 — God restores our brokenness.

We might feel like we are damaged goods and are beyond repair. Satan will lie and tell us God could never use us.

God can untangle your mess and bring healing if you’ve severed relationships, and your life is off-track.

He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Psalm 23:3 (NKJV)

2 — Our lives are temporary.

When the weight of our burdens crushes our spirit, be encouraged there is more beyond this life.

The Bible warns that Christians will repeatedly face hardship.

In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33b

Our hope is our citizenship in heaven. We will spend eternity in the most amazing place! Our temporary life on earth will seem like nothing once we arrive.

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

3 — God is working in our lives.

Sometimes we feel our lives are on the road to nowhere. This is never true.

Our days may feel chaotic and meaningless, but God doesn’t make mistakes. His plan for us will be accomplished.

…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philippians 1:6

When life gets hard, hang on to God with all your might. Hold tight to His promise in Psalm 55:22, “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
