There is a sense in which every experience we have as Christians, as we wander Terra Firma, is a school to bring Christ out in us. Opportunities abound requiring us to make the Jesus choice in our daily living.

Endurance, patience, loving the unlovely, preaching the Gospel in adverse circumstances, forgiving, and many more. As new Christians we are often not in tune with what God is doing with us, and our only reaction is “let me out of here”! The quicker we realize we are experiencing God’s ‘let Jesus be seen in me’ schooling, the better it will be for God and us.

If God has us picked out for some leadership role, or other important work, He will lead us into what at first feels like the school of hard knocks. It happened with Jesus. Mathew 3:17 is a record of Jesus’ baptism, after which a voice came from Heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” Immediately thereafter, At once the Spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness, and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.…He ate nothing for forty days.
