How Can Something So Awful Be Called Good?
Dying a Criminal’s Death to Save the World
It’s a little ironic that the day Jesus was crucified on the cross is called Good Friday. Isn’t it? His death wasn’t “good,” but what came after most definitely was.
“If Jesus’s death could later be called good, don’t you think the same could be said of the trials you are currently facing?” — Based off of a quote I saw a few years ago
Today, we remember the death of Jesus that saved us all.
Jesus knew what He had to do, and He went through it all anyway.
“For He was teaching His disciples, saying to them, ‘The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And when He is killed, after three days He will rise.’” — Mark 9:31
Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He knew exactly what was going to happen before it did. He could have decided not to go through with it, because He was God. When Jesus still decided to go through with it, He felt everything the same way we would, because He was fully man.
