Investigating Jonathon Cahn’s Paradigm Regarding King Ahab and Wife Jezebel - from the Bible
Pastor Jonathon Cahn’s books The Josiah Manifesto and The Paradigm, focus on two historical characters from the Old Testament of the Bible — King Ahab and his wife Jezebel. The Josiah Manifesto got to ‘Worlds best selling book’ soon after its publication. I wondered why Author Cahn chose those two people, and that section of the Old Testament, for his Paradigm, as he calls it. By paradigm he means the pattern of the lives of these two people and others in the Bible, are repeated throughout history, and up to our modern day. A preordained paradigm that repeats itself throughout history. The Bible is a big book with a lot of historical characters in it. I decided to investigate.
The first thing that became clear is that the two characters; King Ahab and his wife Jezebel, have some notoriety in the Bible. Of Ahab it says, Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD more than all [the kings] who were before him. (1 Kings 16:30) Jezebel gets a mention in the book of Revelation: Jesus addressing the Christians at Thyatira — “But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
