The Point of All God’s Dealings
the finish of it all
Romans 11:12 (KJV)
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
There are three “characters” at play in this passage:
- The world
- The Gentiles and
- The Jews
God speaks of the “riches of the world” and the “riches of the Gentiles.”
- The riches of the world come through the fall of the Jews, Israel.
- The riches of the Gentiles come through the diminishing of Israel.
But the finish of it all is the fulness of Israel.[1]
God’s plan has always been:
- The fulness of the Jews
- The fulness of the Gentiles and
- The fulness of the world
There is none more favored. No one group is more loved of God. The point of all God’s dealings with Jews, Gentiles, and the Church of God, has been one end. That all would experience the fulness of the Lord.
We ought to stop pitting one people against another and putting one people above another and instead bring all people to know Jesus Christ so that all people may have the fullest blessing from God.
[1] That this fulness is extended to the Gentiles and to the world is seen in the phrase “how much more.” It isn’t God intent to give more to Israel but to give fulness to all through Israel.
