Discover the truth and be set free.

Are you a Christian but sometimes come out of Church or an online Service and feel not so good about yourself?

Do you ever feel unsettled but not sure why?

Have you ever felt like Salvation was a bait-and-switch game you couldn’t figure out?

It can feel like an uneasy awareness, an always-there thought, waiting to ambush and accuse. After convincing someone, they might as well sin since they’re a dirty-hearted sinner, “it” would then pile on the guilt and shame.

You’re always going to be a loser, and God will never be pleased with you because-

*(your)* — the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jer.17:9(BSB)

That’s just not right! Take heart and read on.

Those feelings, generated by your thoughts and beliefs, are called cognitive dissonance.

Psycom.net says cognitive dissonance is a mental conflict when your beliefs don’t align with your actions. The degree of discomfort varies with the subject matter and how well the person copes with self-contradiction.

The things our old selves (flesh memories) want to do are against what the Holy Spirit wants. The Holy Spirit does not agree with what our sinful old selves(memories)want. These two are against each other. Galatians 5:17a(NLV)

Voila — Mental Conflict.

Your first step to solving the issue of mental conflict is to become aware of, identify and address your internal conflicts.

Your new self, deep down, knows you have a new heart. But you are being told and believing that you have a wicked heart. Both can’t be true.

The more you seek truth, grow in the grace of Jesus, and renew your mind, the more you will experience decreasing symptoms.

You will increasingly know what God/Dad wants. *Romans 12:2 * 2 Peter 3:18*

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32(NLT)

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Ezekiel 36:26(NLT)

God knows people’s hearts, and He confirmed that He accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for He cleansed their hearts through faith. Acts 15:8,9(NLT)

- that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:17,18(ESV)

So, Christ has truly set us free. Now *(you) make sure that you stay free… Galatians 5:5a(NLT)

Finally, Guard Your Heart

It occurred to me regularly through the years that I wouldn’t want to be the reason someone got “saved.”

What would I say anyways? Get saved and be miserable like me?

Salvation was great for the first few months. But I soon fell into misery because I wouldn’t talk to God.

I didn’t know I was saved for a relationship with Him — that He gave me a new heart for Holy Spirit to live in.

If you’ve ever felt that “off” feeling about this topic, please, talk to Dad asap and be sure to:

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23(NLT)

Till next time,
