What Would Jesus Do?
A Visual Guide for Christian Parents
As Christian parents, we often encourage our children to ask, “What would Jesus do?” In Jesus’s early life, there is little detail in the scriptures about how He lived as a child. This gap in His story can make it difficult for young children to visualize how they can follow His example.
As an artist, I’ve always dreamed of illustrating the life of Christ. While working on my Gospels Map Project, www.gospelsmap.com, I saw a huge gap in Jesus ‘ early life. It left me thinking about what growing up in Nazareth would be like for Jesus. We know what Jesus was as an adult. Jesus wasn’t good only when he was an adult. To be what he became, He had to be good as a child too. To bridge that gap, I’ve created a series of 30 images of Jesus as a child, growing up in Nazareth. These images depict Jesus in simple, relatable moments. They include images of Jesus playing with friends, praying, and being a loving son and brother. There are images of Him showing kindness, helping his parents, and visiting the sick. Through these images, young children can see how Jesus might have acted as a child. I hope to inspire you to follow His example of kindness, humility, and service.
