Have you ever felt like you’ve come to the end of your rope? I have. More than once…twice…(let’s just say quite a few times).

A significant part of my problem was my focus. I grew up feeling like I was the responsible one. When things got out of hand, it was mine, as the oldest child, to fix. The weight of the pressure brought on discouragement.

May that’s where you are, or someplace similar. Here’s what I discovered and am still discovering at times (because old habits die hard):

His ability makes us response-able!

Through the strength and wisdom of Christ, we are made able to respond.

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)

The context of this statement by Paul to the Philippian believers was not what many have made it seem:

In other words, because I’m a child of God and believe in Christ I can do anything (at all) that I put my mind to.

Yes, our actions play a role, but that isn’t what this verse is saying. Reading the verses before his statement, Paul was talking about his experiences with abounding and being in need.
