Love is complex, yet simple. Love simply is.

Author’s Image.

I was watching “Before Sunrise” for the 10th time last night.

To my surprise, I found it extremely uninteresting this time around, their storylines reveal a different side of the characters that I simply missed before.

But I love the concept of the movie,

Because it reminds me to enjoy the moments. These two strangers meet on the train and decide to spend one day together, before parting ways tomorrow morning.

Too often when we meet someone, we always fantasize about the outcome of the relationship, we want to make sure that it is safe to fall in love with them, and that we won’t be getting hurt.

But to fall in love with someone is to learn to enjoy every living moment you have with them.

To fall in love with someone is to enjoy learning about them as much as you can, in any given opportunity.

To be in love with someone is to learn to be thankful for every interaction you have with them, at the given moment.

There is so much for you to enjoy learning about someone,

There is so much for you to enjoy being with someone at the moment.

There is so much for you to be thankful for having someone you love, at any given moment,

There is just so much to enjoy at the moment,

There is just so much to be thankful for, at the moment, to not be thinking about the future, the outcome.

Because, any given moment, any given interaction you have with someone, any chance you have to learn about someone, is already a miracle, a dream come true, a blessing.

Because, love is complex, yet very simple — love simply is.

One thing that makes me always love the movie is the story behind it: The director of the movie met a girl on the train, and he lost the contact information she gave him. He was making these movies with the hope that she would watch them and find her way back to him. Later on, he received a phone call from her friends or relatives, letting him know that she had passed away.

You never know when is the last time you see someone,

You never know when is the last time you hug someone,

I hope you hug someone you love a little tighter today,

And never miss a chance to tell them how much you love them.

In case they forget, tell them again.

P.S. The director grants these characters a happy ending in the movies, almost as if he’s fulfilling his dream.
