A July Recap for DropChain
July has been an exciting month for DropChain. The growth we have experienced in the past few weeks from the perspective of community building, networking and product development has been phenomenal. It’s times like this where the professionalism and dedication of the DropChain team truly stands out.
Hainan: Hi-Tech Expo & Government Relations
During my trip to the 8BTC World Blockchain Conference in Wuzhen, DropChain was invited concurrently to the Hainan Int’l Hi-Tech Industry and Innovation Expo through the support of our strategic partner Sanya Travel Attraction Technology Accelerator (STATA). The pace of growth and the government’s commitment to developing the island province’s technology (and blockchain) industry is staggering.
We were honored with a visit by Sanya’s Minister of Science, Technology and Communication who showed strong interest in the work DropChain was doing for food traceability and transparency. With over 1 million overseas tourists staying in Hainan every year, food safety is a top concern for the local government.
Complemented by plans for a Hainan Free Trade Zone in 2020, which would open up the island economy to the world, I’m optimistic about how DropChain can position ourselves locally and impact the future of Hainan’s food logistics network.
Hong Kong: RISE-ing to the Occasion
Following Hainan and a short trip to TechCrunch Hangzhou, we set up camp in Hong Kong for RISE, one of the largest tech conferences in Asia. I was informed it was the perfect stage to showcase DropChain to the world, and the advice proved correct. From the moment the doors swung open on the exhibition floor, DropChain’s booth was swamped until the show ended. We left hungry, exhausted, yet incredibly satisfied from the many contacts we made with blockchain incubators, exchanges, investors, and potential partners. We’re still reaching out to those we met at RISE, and I’m excited about the potential partnerships and alliances DropChain will strike going forward.
Onwards and Upwards for DropChain
Looking ahead, we will continue to hit key milestones in the month of August. Most notably, we will demonstrate tangible progress and results from the product development team. From our blockchain proof-of-concept and product design, to our finalized technical white paper outlining the tech stack underpinning DropChain’s ecosystem.
Our website has just received a facelift and will continue to be updated as these deliverables are released. We’re also proud to announce DropChain’s official introduction video!
We’re heading back on the road this week. First stop Hong Kong, next stop Singapore. We are traveling to meet with investors, partners, and the crypto community to continue pushing DropChain forward.
