The Growing Tension between France & The Religious World

This was honestly a tough one to talk about. There is a thin line between discussing the topic itself and coming off as insulting. I’m honestly not 100% sure we managed to do it well enough but we are 100% learning.

Did the French president handle what happened well? Quite frankly, no. As a politician, he did horribly. Although there was nothing wrong with what he said specifically, he was not tactful in his message. Thus, the global Muslim community has hit back at him & unfortunately, France as a whole. Which is honestly wrong on both sides and at the end of the day achieves nothing but create a larger divide.

Everybody loses.

To start off, our podcast covers majority of our thoughts and conversations. However, as mentioned, we don’t have all the answers. It is quite frankly impossible to do so because a lot of the problems are at the government level and systemic.

When it comes to systemic issues, my personal opinion is that it requires generations of work to solve the issue. Simply talking about it and trying to do little campaigns just won’t do it. This applies even more so to the government level as one would need to be so high up the ladder to even make an impact. Not everybody can be a Greta Thurnberg.

A massive massive part of the problem is the unwillingness to have conversations about the topic. If people are unwilling to even listen and talk things can never change.

Conflict + Conversation = Change

More people need to have the courage to discuss topics that make them feel uncomfortable. ESPECIALLY when it comes to topics encompassing religion. The traditional idea that you have to be an expert or somebody famous to have a relevant opinion is short-sighted.

If we can’t be open minded enough to have and create more conversations, we will be in a constant loop. Nothing will change. The communities on all sides need to be proactive in preaching peace through communication rather than having emotional reactions to the negative and toxic terrorists in the world.

Personally, I am disappointed in the fear mongering and hate created in our global culture. There is an unwillingness to be daring enough to piss people off. Truth is, you can’t achieve anything if you are too afraid to break some eggs.

This is the objective and goal of our podcast. We want to have more and more conversations about topics like this. Although it will be tough, we will learn and spend more and more time improving our ability to express our message.
