Eastside’s Very Own SoundCloud Rapper: HoodRichh Zay
HoodRicch Zay is a famous SoundCloud rapper who goes to Eastside High School. At just sixteen years old, he’s already done songs with many well-known artists like DeeBoy, Jermdahuncho, and Hokage. He’s popular among many teens in the Los Angeles area, especially in Lancaster and Palmdale.
“I love to rap,” says HoodRicch Zay. “I express myself through my music. It’s the best feeling anyone can have to see that people enjoy listening to your music.”
His first song, called “Applying Pressure,” has over one hundred thousand plays and several thousand likes. This song can be found on his Soundcloud account, along with some of his other popular songs like N.$.A.- Give Em Hell, Damn ft. DeeBoy, and Intro.
“He’s a prolific writer and lyricist, “ said Cornell Davis who’s also a SoundCloud rapper. He’s hasn’t done a song with HoodRichh Zay, but he’s planning on making one in the future with him.
“He’s cool,” says Justin Portly whose music is also available on SoundCloud. “He’s hard, but I’m not into it like that.”
Eastside student Oscar Norman thinks it’s important to support local artists like HoodRicch Zay. “He can be a good artist,” he says. “I support everyone in the AV.”
