Addicted, Not Convicted

I ain’t on drugs, but I smoke cigars
When I take five from playing my guitar.
I puff a Hookah from dawn till dusk
Then I shoot down aliens on my Xbox.

Ain’t no alcoholic, but love’m energy drinks
They keep me up all night chatting to chicks.
Hell, I’m addicted to sex but not as much as TV,
Porn’s second best because it’s free.

My chick’s an addict, too; a shopaholic.
And, you see, I ain’t a workaholic.
But she can’t stop spendin’
The dough I ain’t makin’.

Man, I’m broke, and I feel beat.
Those anxiety pills make me look like shit.
I’ve wasted my time. Afraid might join club 27.
Hell sure, I ain’t gonna end up in Heaven.

I’m addicted but not convicted.
No drug dealer, stealer of lives.
No maniac rapist, abuser of wives.
No drunk driver, no convicted killer.
Addicted to shit that makes me no evil.

No rehab for this stressed twenty somethin’
Law says he ain’t addicted to nothin’
No jail to a troubled young man
He’s done nothin’ wrong to other men.

My addictions are killin’ me. No one gives a damn.
They’ll find me dead somewhere; get a pic on the wall of fame.
The headline’s read: Gone Young, what a shame!
Addicted, not convicted. Who’s to be blamed?
