Introducing self-operating transportation (Revised)
Research Purpose
I will begin to divulge into an area of high interest on a personal level. That topic will expand on researching how society in general will adapt to the introduction of self-driving transportation in the inevitable advancements that will take place technologically. This is an interesting topic because I believe it changes the way we as a society will behave going from place A to B. As I get further in my research, I believe some information could be helpful for every reader, as this is something that will effect everyone in the future.
Preliminary Thoughts
As far as my preliminary knowledge on the topic, I know there are a few companies such as Tesla that are experimenting with this technology. I am excited to understand more about self-driving cars and report my findings.
Questions of Interest
How will roadway infrastructure be effected? Will routes be reworked to have flawless time travel optimization? How would car insurance agencies be affected? In the event of an accident, who would be liable? Would it be the car company who created the technology or the person inside the car who is not actually controlling the machine? Will this drastically reduce the amount of deaths by car accident? It seems like it would be really productive in reducing intoxicated drivers on the roads. These are all of high interest because it essentially changes the entire playing field for how we view transportation. It is also intriguing that a person would likely not need any “skill” to prepare for this advancement. In contrast to the current way of life, young adults will not be required to take drivers-ed or a driving test to acquire a license.
Adaptation
The future is a promising prospect. There are a lot of technological advancements to look forward, such as this one. While there are certainly many challenges that still need to be answered regarding self-driving AI technology, I believe that in due time those will be addressed. I am excited to see the benefits this may bring towards our society as a whole.
