Every Day Encouragement (3/365)
In all the public information assailing us at every turn; the ‘do this, don’t do that’ advice and guidance shaping our day-to-day, it feels like there might be something missing.
There’s a complementary characteristic to the masks, separation and hand wringing (sorry, washing) … get outdoors!
If we were in Germany, the duvets hanging over balconies and the windows flung wide open would tell a tale of behaviours as natural as nature itself. Frische luft … fresh air, a necessity … a habit, inculcated from birth.
A passion for nature cuts to the heart of what Norwegians call friluftsliv (pronounced free-loofts-liv). The expression literally translates as ‘open-air living’. Health and well-being, inextricably connected to time spent outdoors.
We’re keeping it simple … ‘Move More’; a simple mantra to stir us into action. A step over the threshold … blue sky thinking; forest bathing; nature nurtures. Every day, gulp fresh air, breathe deeply; rejoice in its availability and its restorative powers. Pause, take in the small details; thrive in nature.
Now, that’s open air living
