Clickety clack.

The sound of your keyboard

as you furiously finish

the hoard of homework

you’ve managed to stack.

Regretting leaving it to the last minute, you look aside.

Your phone turns on, and in it,

A message from “Time”.

“With homework causing you quite some strife,

You seem to be quite busy with your life,

Just relax, just lean back, and cut some slack.”

And of course, you’re then filled with glee.

“Sure. Alright. I agree!”

“Great to hear! No need to fear!

Abracadabra alakazam.

This life hack,

Sends you 3 hours back!”

And now, with more time to spare,

You’ll finish it all for sure.

Mashing the keyboard with intense force

Of course you’ll end up finishing it.

But now, with the power of time,

There’s so many things you can do!

So then you’ll go back in time,

Fixing your mistakes so you seem sublime.

And while you’re at it, think of the money you’ll make!

That time in school, where you embarrassed yourself?

That no longer happened, you’re too cool for that!

That invention created, which earned lots of money?

Your intervention stopped it and caused its prevention.

You stole its conceptions and grabbed everyone’s attention.

Your intentions selfish, increasing your ego’s ascension.

“Alright! That’s enough!

I’ve had it!

Your corruption of this dimension needs to stop!”

“But with you I’ve changed.

In status, I’ve grown so high.”

Time merely sighs, and asserts its contention.

“Yes, you’ve changed.

You’ve become deranged.

But think to yourself.

Who have I become?

Yes, a great genius to some.

But, really, how far have you come?”

With time in your hand,

you let it slip out.

In this journey of yours,

Are you really what you want to be?

Or just some lazy lout?
