Why You Should Never Pay to Learn the Latest Digital Marketing Tactics
Be wary of gurus selling you the “hottest new marketing trick.”
Every day we are bombarded with marketing gurus trying to sell us their latest course on Facebook ads. The ad usually shows some “happy” person living a comfortable lifestyle. Underneath, we read the story of how he was living in a friend's basement with no money just two years ago, but after discovering this super-secret Facebook ads system, he got rich.
The said success guru throws a few numbers at us, including the buzz-term of all buzz terms, which is ROI. ROI stands for return on investment and is a common term used by marketers to measure the effectiveness of a marketing campaign.
Most marketing experts use the term ROI crudely and misleadingly: They focus on the sales generated through advertising, but they completely ignore the importance of the actual profits generated.
Someone can get lots of sales through advertising, but still lose money on them.
