Question: if you’re six months from releasing a new product, and you don’t even have a working model yet, should you be promoting it?

My answer? ABSOLUTELY.

But I don’t mean what you think I mean.

Let’s back up. You should absolutely be prepping for a product launch months in advance, no matter what you’re selling, right? Whether it’s a new app, service or even…clocks. Yes, clocks. But what exactly do you need to be doing to get the world ready for you? If you’re not even sure the product itself is going to look like, how can you be ready for the day when it launches? I have the answer to all these questions. There is a huge amount that can be done, in fact, but there is one thing you need to concentrate on.

And guess what? This tactic works for EVERYTHING.

The tactic?

Content content content content.

Let’s say you’re putting out a fitness app, or even a productivity app. You need to go and reserve dailytimemanagement dot com, or something like that, anyway, so actually use that domain leading up to launch! Start putting out content around that genre and lifestyle. Same with the fitness app. Create a media property that speaks to people who would be interested in the app. When you do this, you’ll start getting like minded people in the same place. You’re creating a community around the very thing you are about to launch a product in.

Then the app comes out, and you POUND them with it.

Think about it. You’ve gathered the people who are most likely to use you app in a place together. And then when the times right, you SHOUT at them. Tell them about it. Ask them to test it out. Give them free trials or limited access to something.

Like I said before, this tactic works for EVERYTHING. Replace the apps with a new product of any kind, and the answer is the same: content. You give them a place to go to learn more, discuss, meet other people, be PART of it. Then you hit them with your new product.

And THAT is JABBING then RIGHT HOOKING.

Thanks for reading! Know somebody with a product coming out soon? Show them this next time they try landing the right hook without a proper set up.
