This month’s workshop featured a potluck of 7 TEW members each with 5 minutes to present on an topic of their choosing. With local professionals from a variety of fields we got to stimulate new ways of thinking in smaller segments.

Speaker 1: Conrad Kozuch

Generate More Leads Using LinkedIn
Creating a company with $8,000,000 of additional revenue Conrad has found success in understanding how to reach lead goals. Members walked away with new tactics to increase sales and the process they would need to generate qualified leads through LinkedIn.
Speaker 2: Emily Kohler

What does Success mean to an Entrepreneur?
Speaking from her own experience, Emily shared how she stopped measuring her success through dollars and started measuring through gained knowledge and skill. She reminded members that just because a company or idea fails doesn't mean you have. Challenging everyone to do the same members were excited and intrigued to try this new mindset out.
Speaker 3: Erica Bishaf

Pet Tech Trends
Erica shared her pet tech expertise with members and provide an overview of how 360-degree videos will assist in both increasing pet adoptions and progressing society towards accepting virtual reality as mainstream. Members even got a chance to try out this VR viewer with a couple pets!
Speaker 4: Siôn Owen

Copywriting for Digital Products
With experience as a copywriter for BMW Siôn had a lot to share about why copy is so powerful. Siôn reminded members the importance of keeping the personality of your product and company consistent while creating clear and simple copy. Siôn believes messaging a product is just as important as the visual appeal.
Speaker 5: Laura Engel

Intro to Patents 101
With her lively presentation, Laura helped members understand when to file patents, which patents to file and what to avoid all together. Giving several personal patent examples, Laura also gave insight into why you would want to file one in the first place.
Speaker 6: Sheila Petersen

Health & Entrepreneurship
Sheila focused on the mind and heart last night. Although keeping up with your physical health is important often entrepreneurs forget to keep their intellectual health up to par. She spoke to several useful Ted Talks and tips for members, including how to focus your intentions before the day begins and the power of focussing on one task at a time without interruptions.

Speaker 7: Jim Plachy

Creating Productive Communities
Creating a community with 300+ members all with diverse skill level and interest was not easy but Jim made it work! Jim showed members how he used Slack, for free, to cultivate a large community of amateur and expert beer enthusiast.






The Entrepreneur’s Workshop is a Chicago-based meetup group that provides small group sessions to further develop skills in business & marketing. The purpose of these sessions is to help strengthen the entrepreneurial community in Chicago by providing a place to learn and interact.
July’s MeetUp was a joint effort between The Entrepreneur’s Workshop MeetUp and the Windy City Problem Solvers LinkedIn Group, hosted by WeWork National Building.
