You’ve heard by now that on July 21, Capt Paul Watson was arrested in Greenland.

How did he get arrested?

According to reports, Captain Paul Watson’s name was removed from the interpol red notice, signaling that he would be safe to travel. However, Japan had an international arrest warrant on him from his activities to stop their illegal whaling practices in Antarctica. When the Captain docked in Greenland, the ship was raided by Danish police to arrest the Captain.

Who is Captain Paul Watson?

He is the founder of both Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd, and lately of Neptune’s Pirates. He is known for his anti-whaling, marine wildlife protection efforts, and unconventional yet very effective ways of stopping illegal hunts and practices in the open ocean. He is an Ocean warrior who employs aggressive but non-violent tactics to stop illegal activities. Out in the open Ocean, laws are not enforced by any entity. This gap is used on a daily and hourly basis by those who look to make a quick dollar by exploiting vulnerable species employing illegal practices.
