It’s no secret that the success of activism comes with the support of people.

Without enough people behind the fight, causes die out and people start to lose interest.

However, because there are so many ways to inspire action, we see a huge spectrum of different methods used. From the effective youth-centric movement led by Greta Thunberg to doomsday movies like Don’t Look Up (a movie that brought out my climate anxiety in full force) to the protests led by Just Stop Oil that have triggered the public to turn their back against the cause, it is apparent that the branding of the climate action greatly impacts the reaction obtained.

Obviously, too much climate anxiety is bad. And we definitely don’t want activism like Just Stop Oil that turns people away from the cause.

The Old Call-to-Actions Are Showing Their Age

In our climate fight, “climate change” and “global warming” are terms that have been around for a very long time (“global warming” was used in a scientific paper in 1975, introducing the public to this term).
