Tree Hugger Killed by Cops in Georgia
This is not the sort of thing you’d expect in America.
I opened my inbox this morning to The All We Can Save Project’s newsletter and thought I was going to scroll through a few uplifting stories about climate-conscious people who are really trying to make a difference.
All We Can Save is a book of: “Provocative and illuminating essays from women at the forefront of the climate movement who are harnessing truth, courage, and solutions to lead humanity forward.” The essays were compiled by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katherine K. Wilkinson and published in 2020. The All We Can Save Project was born out of this book.
Back to this morning. What I expected from this monthly newsletter is not what I got. Here is a link to the newsletter.
Follow the links within the post to read how, Tortuguita, a forest guardian who was occupying a forest in Georgia in protest of the tearing down of 85 acres of forest to build a $90 million law enforcement facility, was shot and killed by a Georgia State Patrol trooper!
