Why We Must Boycott US Oil and Gas Now!
The world cannot function when the desires of the few, outweigh the needs of all.
We are in a climate emergency — there is no denying it. As a campaigner for Stop Cambo and the North Sea, I can say without a doubt that if we don’t stop gas and oil exploration immediately, we are hurtling toward a trajectory similar to that of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago — extinction, and in far less than five years.
This is now a war: a war of information, a war on sanity, and a war on reality. No matter how much we try, climate-vulnerable countries, which are already enduring the worst impacts of climate change — 50-degree heatwaves, floods, droughts, and famines — have the least power to combat it.
Yet, the Trump administration’s plan to drill the earth has been encouraged and even celebrated across the world. Who came first to applaud? Saudi Arabia. The oil plutocrats are planning to invest between $600 billion and $1 trillion into the U.S. economy, much of it directed toward climate-intensive AI, oil, and gas.
While the need for yearly funds for climate change at 1 trillion was too much for the rich nations. We must realise its about rich verses poor as much as anything else, poor people in the USA will suffer the effects of climate change much strongly than the rich, they have private jets, where will you escape when wildfires or storms destroy your home?
As the rich get richer, we are all going to foot the bill hard.
Countries like Bangladesh and their investment adviser had this to post. Talking about stupidly trying to wave the flag of success while deepening the pockets of companies in the business of drowning Bangladesh. I cannot imagine the sheer stupidity and the dissonance of this.
We must stop this now, the only way we can is if countries started boycotting American products especially American Oil and Gas, we have boycotted for lesser reason than this, millions are at risk in this year. The world has surpassed the limit of unforgiving climate change; we cannot accelerate it further.
I urge the UN and EU to boycott I urge the Climate Vulnerable group of countries to boycott this oil and gas, that is the only way we can starve the monster that is coming for us all.
