The True Beginning
A Prelude to the Eons of Existence
In the Beginning, there was Light.
We know this. It is the foundation of all mythology, as well as our scientific cosmology.
But before the True Beginning which begat all beginnings, there was only the Dark, an infinite unchanging nothing.
When the Light first flared at the Beginning of All Things, the Dark ceased to be nothing, and in becoming, knew thought and feeling. Its first feeling was pain, for the Light burned. Dark’s first thought was to smother the Light, to end the pain and return to nothing.
But the Dark could not extinguish the Light, and was driven back, leaving Void. The Light grew to fill the Void and so created Energy, from which came Matter, and finally Life. And so began Creation.
As Creation grew and became more complex, so too did Light and Dark. From Light came all that was virtuous and nurturing to Creation, while the Dark spawned ruin and corruption. Thus were Good and Evil known.
In time, Life developed Consciousness, and this True Beginning begat new beginnings, as the Eons of Existence unfolded. Light and Dark became conceptualized in many ways over these Eons, always in a state of Opposition.
So begin the Eons of Existence and the Eternal Conflict.
