As tensions persist in the Ukrainian landscape, Ukrainian forces have made a substantial breakthrough, reclaiming over 16 square kilometers in the eastern and southern regions from Russian forces last week, as reported by France Presse. This feat underscores a counteroffensive launched almost two months ago, aimed at driving Russian troops out of Ukraine.

Hanna Maliar, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister, expressed on Ukrainian television, her contentment at these recent victories, specifically in the Bahmut sector (Donetsk region, east) and the south, where Ukrainian forces have succeeded in piercing the Russian defensive line.

From the launch of the counteroffensive in early June, the Kiev forces have liberated approximately 35 square kilometers in the Bahmut area and a staggering 192.1 square kilometers in the southern part. Maliar further reported that Russian forces made an attempt to push back the Ukrainian units beyond the Oskil river, seeking weak points in Ukraine’s defenses towards Kupiansk (northeast).

The Ukrainian offensive operations are ongoing in the direction of Melitopol and Berdiansk, two southeastern Ukrainian cities temporarily occupied by Russia. The Ukrainian military is attempting to advance from two areas within the southern sector of the front…
