When Is The ‘Normal’ Time For Kids To Start Masturbating?

Good morrow, dear Establishers and devoted Unscrewed listeners!

Another Tuesday, another delectable quickiesode of Spare Parts, where we get you in and out in 15 minutes or less — like a tantric sex ninja late for the train.

First, though, let me tell you that Unscrewed is entering a summer hiatus. We’ll be trotting out old, awesome episodes (including interviews from Jaclyn’s previous podcast incarnation, The Yes Means Yes Show), but there won’t be any fresh meat on the aural grill until fall rolls around this September, bringing with it the heady stench of wet leaves and sexual freedom.

But! Don’t furrow your sweet brow just yet. This week’s episode comes with some exciting news — Unscrewed was named one of the best new sex podcasts by Marie Claire and Esquire (boom bitches get out the way!), and Jaclyn will be speaking at Woodhull’s Sexual Freedom Summit.

Plus, the episode itself is a doozy, featuring fan-fucking-tastic advice from last week’s guest Heather Corinna. After hearing Jaclyn’s interview with former Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders, a listener wonders: “Is there a ‘normal’ age to begin masturbating?” The listener worries that her self-sex exploration when she was still in “single-digits” is deviant . . . and while she has written (and re-written) her story many times, she fears submitting it for publication, lest she be decried as a lascivious and strange anomaly.

The advice provided in response to this quandary should be heeded by all.

Enjoy.
