The Ethereans — Chapter 1 — Introduction
We know that many of you have been waiting for this article, so we hope you are excited to know what will come after this little piece of lore.
“In order to understand this story is important to know that the Cryplings are a native race from Planet Crypto, located far away in the ETH regions on the border of the so-called The Milky Way.
The main story swirls around The Etherean Empire, commanded by The High Emperor, a leader characterized by his extreme intelligence and ambition, making use of its power this ruler decides to launch a series of expeditions to recognize the neighboring planets and space systems.
Here is where the story of our hero begins. Back then he was just a young boy dreaming of becoming a legend in the Empire, and thus be able to explore the rest of the galaxy to live countless adventures and discover new worlds.
This is how our hero decides to enroll in the Imperial Academy. Throughout the days he manages to make his superiors realize that he was born for that, continuously overcoming all the tasks entrusted to him, achieving all the objectives that no one had achieved until then. However, the Emperor’s plans were to secretly form an implacable and reckless Empire that was determined to carry out his orders no matter how savage or cruel they might be. In this situation is where the first conflicts of our hero begin to appear, as he feels anger and pity for the members of his squadron; they are not able to fulfill the tasks on the first try and have to suffer the consequences. Our hero befriends some comrades in his squadron in whom he sees great potential to perform specific assignments. He realizes that together they are capable of carrying out any task but separately their shortcomings are too obvious to their superiors.
After a while, our hero and his squad are on a training mission exploring a moon near Planet Crypto, but after several fights and complaints for not being able to advance towards their objective, our hero uses his wit to make them see that they can achieve great things leaving aside their arrogance and bad attitude. At that moment he commits himself to help them finish their mission and prepare them so they can graduate from the Imperial Academy and become part of the Empire.
Upon returning to Planet Crypto they noticed something different, one of the recon squads returned incomplete with signs of having fought a great battle and with one of the members locked in a special container. That same day The High Emperor announces that the last generation of the Imperial Academy will be subjected to a test to accelerate their graduation, as they will participate in a new and important mission whose objective is to go to an inhabited planet and bring back a newly discovered element that promises to change the present and the future of the Empire.”
After this, several questions arise:
- Who is the hero of this story, a simple soldier, perhaps a captain?
- What has happened on the moon with the reconnaissance team? Why did they lock one cryptling in a box?
- Is the Emperor evil or just looking out for the best for his people?
- What does the Emperor look like?
- What tests does the Imperial Academy require, why do they cost the others so much effort?
