Depop User Guide
How to use but/sell platform while following Depop’s guidelines and policies:
I’d like to have an article or something where all users (sellers and buyers using the platform) to be more aware of how Depop works:
I’ve had 1 customer want to pay for an item through PayPal e-transfer or some other payment that Depop does not accept. I told him Depop accepts PayPal as a type of payment for buying directly through Depop. And also told him that the payment method he was talkikynaviut goes against selling and buying rules of Depop and both mine and his accounts would be investigated.
He wouldn’t listen. Another customer: wanted to pay $10 for an item and expect me to give them FREE shipping (but never said that) she said she only has $10 in her PayPal balance on her account and can’t do any higher then $10; got immature or rude about how all users upon sellers policies: must pay for shipping.
Many other issues like: message seller before purchasing for specific shipping quote: pick from shipping companies, shipping types: Lettermail, Regular Parcel, Expedited, Standard, etc.
If a buyer or seller is confused and unsure if the other person meant what they are thinking they meant: should include that communication, language are important: voice your buying intentions, even just as little as I can only afford $** because of my budget… so no one comes off as sketchy or appear as a scammer. Pay for item and shipping and then item gets shipped out.
These are just a few to list but I find a lot of communication errors/mistakes made by sellers/customers who don’t seem to fully grasp how Depop works and the rules.
Here’s something to also bring up briefly to keep an eye out for these kinds of people:
