The Jewish refugee aid group, HIAS, is criticizing a new government program to aid victims of crimes committed by undocumented immigrants. Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office, also referred to as VOICE, will be run by ICE and will provide services to victim’s of these crimes. HIAS states that the group unfairly singles out minorities.

HIAS also states that VOICE discriminates against an already vulnerable population.

HIAS compared the work to discrimination against Jews over a century ago when they were accused of committing many crimes. Will these accusations change VOICE in the future?
