Direct translation: Parents and children separated due to their migratory status, reunited in California.

The program Corazón de Plata permits immigrants stuck in the United States, to reunite with family members who are given visitation visas. For a short amount of time, immigrants can meet with their family members from Mexico.

The program, which was created in 2012, helped 29 people from different families meet at the Elks Lodge in Oxnard, Calif. Each year, 3 groups of families, all 60 years or older, get to stay with their family members for one to two months.

María Villareal, and her daughter María Cervantes, got to see each other after 12 years separated, reports Hoy Los Angeles.
