Jews are coming to the defense of those affected by the travel ban. Several Jewish groups have condemned Trump’s newest executive order implemented on March 6, to reinstate the travel ban on 6 Muslim countries. Jewish reform groups called the order “discriminatory and unjust.”

This follows the recent trend of Jewish media portraying support from Jews toward refugees affected by the ban. It will be interesting to see how the latest travel ban will be covered in ethnic media because it is less of a shock than the first time it was instated.

There is also an article about an interfaith project going between Jews and Muslims at a college in New York. Students at five New York college campuses participated in an initiative to train Jewish students for coalition building with students of other religions and faiths.

This is an interesting piece because it sheds light on one minority group reaching out to another that is being marginalized.

I found the last quote of the article very empowering:

The day after President Trump won the election, Frenkel sent out an email to her Muslim peers, many of whom had been deeply frightened by his comments about Islam during the campaign. “The email wasn’t long — it just said we’re here for you. We care about you. We’re thinking about you,” she said. “Sometimes, small actions say the most.”
