Salvador Sanchez Ceren, the president of the Republic in El Salvador was upset that members of the Legislative Assembly refused to approve a series of loans for $534.7 million that are expected to financially aid social and economic programs.

Many of the loans are for water, roads and hospitals.

The head of the state said, “We have the resources that are already allocated and one wonders how it is possible that these resources to improve streets, to improve water, are not approved by the Legislative Assembly, and not the entire Legislative Assembly, it is the ARENA party that has a stubborn position, closed and absolutely contrary to the interests of the Salvadoran population.”

The statements were made by the president and the government spokesman during the inauguration of a water project that benefits about 20 thousand inhabitants of Quezaltepeque communities, as reported by Día a Día.
