A gallon of milk could potentially increase from the average price of $3 to $8 if the workers at dairy farms begin to get deported by ICE, mitú reported last week.
A dairy lobbyist recently warned of this possibility, at a conference in Washington D.C., which isn’t a stretch considering farms and factories are often targeted by ICE. This is problematic because according to a 2015 study by Texas A&M University, 79% of the country’s milk supply comes from dairy farms.
