Indian American Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., held a town hall meeting in Cupertino Calif., Saturday, March 25 to address the defeat of the healthcare bill and upcoming obstacles from the Trump administration.

“Your voices made a huge difference,” he said to the crowd. He encouraged those there that the voices and actions of citizens can be more powerful than the president’s decisions.

Khanna told India-West that it’s easy for Trump to say things he is going to do but it’s another to actually do them, “When you look at what the experts are saying and you understand the system, there’s only one solution, which is a public option.”

The congressman followed up with questions on immigration, transportation, affordable housing, healthcare, the president’s finances, the national budget and his interest in signing on a bill. He ended the meeting remaining hopeful and confident of the country’s future, “Trump is just a blip along the way,” he said.
