In a vote of 52 to 46, the Senate confirms President Trump’s nomination of David Friedman for U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Many Democrats in the Senate as well as fellow Jews across the nation were against Friedman’s confirmation.

Although many Democrat Senators believe that Friedman’s confirmation can further complicate any kind of effort in establishing and creating a two state solution, there are some like Senator Joseph Lieberman who believe that Friedman is a right choice.

According to Lieberman, “the near party-live vote on Friedman’s nomination was more about Trump, as most Democrats voted against all of the President’s cabinet picks.”
