Be the Best Part of Someone’s Day

There are jobs where they create the worst part of someone’s day. An exterminator, meter-maid, process server. All necessary components to society but nevertheless, every single day, they ruin someone else’s.

This leaves an opening.

A chance for you to fulfill the other end. Just as being the merchant of misery is the job of others, you can be the best part of a person’s day. It’s true. Someone has to do it.

This person who serves others doesn’t have to deliver miracles. It can be taking pride in the latte a barista makes for the busy commuter. Or an account executive troubleshooting a problem for their client after work hours over Skype. It can be the intern who solves the technical difficulty in the conference room (that’s a guaranteed win).

By thinking about the impact you can have in serving your clients and community will make you show up to work differently. It has for me. My hope is that one of the things I write makes someone smile, think or laugh.

Tomorrow’s Monday. The most dreaded day of the week by most. How can you be the best part of someone’s day tomorrow? Remember, someone has to do it.
