If you walked through a shop with mazes instead of aisles you’d leave. Wandering around, pushing through stumbling blocks, is the last thing any of us want. It’s obvious when you’re in a poorly organized store but digitally it’s harder to see.

Too many e-commerce sites have a fragmented checkout process. If you want more sales, remove the barriers such as clicks, pages, redirects, auto-fill forms etc. Hence, Amazon’s “Buy Now” button with one click.

Here’s what you can do to clean your site up.

  • Keep your products to one page
  • Install an abandoned cart feature
  • Grant users to make an account with social profiles
  • Make it mobile friendly, PLEASE make it work on mobile!

Shopify, WordPress, and Squarespace offer effective templates to keep e-commerce sites simple. Remove the barriers and they’ll buy.
