Grade 9 Final Project Awards
Learning involves not only identifying and writing down the correct answers, but also explaining and relating important concepts. Because the first quarter for the Grade 9 was a pure review of huge grammatical concepts, I wanted their final project to be an explanation and an application of lessons they have been learning since they began high school.
For their final project, I asked them to relate a grammatical concept to any of their childhood memories. This concept was in line with their Literature book for the first quarter: To Kill a Mockingbird, a book written entirely in the perspective of a child.
Seeing the students’ work and creativity in this final project really brought a smile to my face. Their ability to merge a technical lesson with a personal memory is a masterful skill that should continually be honed.
Check out their projects below! You will find a good balance of accuracy and genuine personality.
