Whether it’s exams, relocations, a work project or the latest health and epidemiological crisis of COVID, stressful seasons come and go. At times like these, we tend to prioritize certain activities and leave out many things like taking care of ourselves. This raises the question of: how can we restart our lives or resume our routine after a period of stress?

Getting back into a routine or restarting your life doesn’t mean you have to put more things on your list of worries. Nor does it mean accumulating activities that you have to adopt and perform on a daily basis.

Instead, they are excellent tools or detachment exercises for when you feel a lot of weight on your shoulders like when you have to make an important decision, during the week of exams that made you forget to bathe or something fortuitous ruined your plans, for instance this could be the case of the current pandemic situation we are living in.

1. Be prepared to do nothing

A chaotic season ends with a calmer one, so at this point it’s best to take it easy. Getting back into the routine shouldn’t be immediate. Rest! These first few days are about catching up on lost sleep, watching shows and resuming conversations with family and other loved ones (but not about making any more plans!).
