We Need More Testing Based Certification
Self-learners are not having their needs met
Much is often made of the ever-increasing costs of education. For many people, it is no longer makes sense to spend the amount of money that is required to earn a degree. In addition to the burdens of cost, the demands of work and family prevent many individuals from meeting the time commitments of traditional classes.
Although there is an ongoing discussion on how to make a superior system of education available, there has been little to no discussion about offering more opportunities for testing based certification. When you consider that testing represents the primary means by which traditional classes evaluate the competency of students, it makes no sense that students should have no opportunities to take these tests without having to endure the restrictive time and financial burdens of the class.
