The mask is off “Shitcoinoffering”
A week ago, we noticed a surprising trend on our twitter account — a mass exodus of our followers. We initially thought it was twitter culling bots but when we noticed the pattern repeating for the next few days we decided to investigate. And lo and behold we find out that an individual had posted an article about our project on Medium stating that we were a scam! Given that Fake news travels quickly we decided to address the issue and wrote an article on our Medium blog explaining our position — we were lucky that many of our followers understood our project and returned but we did not want this cruel individual to have his/her day without consequences for their ignorance and blatant disregard for genuine projects. Hence decided to investigate on this individual and his/her credibility.
This is what we found and thought of sharing it with you all. It all began when we received a request for translation campaign from an individual using the handle anobtc on bitcointalk. They looked credible so we gave him/ her the task of translating the whitpaper , ANN and bounty thread.
Next day we get a message on Telegram from an individual by named Doug from Vietnam stating that he manages a bunch of Vietnamese blogs, facebook groups …. and wanted to see if we were willing to pay 3 ETH for promoting the same. When we declined the offer turned to 1 ETH and when we bluntly said no — the very next day the FARM Token is a scam article popped up!!

3 people clapped 100 + times on an article when one can clap a maximum of 50 times an article as per medium. Seems like all those accounts are not genuine too

We also noticed that the other accounts that clapped in medium were dummy— seems like they were created just for clapping and scamming bounty managers wherever the need arises!
Gender — I am still not sure if this individual is male or female — He/she goes by names like Chris martin, Duc, Shitcoinoffering, kieu Linh — depending on the social media. On twitter and facebook account he/she is female and on medium and email he/she is male! Would you trust a person who uses multiple identifies and genders? Infact the facebook account with a profile pic of a cute female has more than 30K followers and that account is extensively used for spreading cyrpto information and disinformation!!
Turns out this person will do anything for money — including promoting worthless tokens like SHIPIT. Infact he/she even promoted the mother of all scams tokens in Vietnam — PINCOIN — by wearing their signature ( and I am sure commented favorably on their behalf too) because that is how signature bounty works!!
Maybe he/she thinks that it takes a thief to identify a thief! Well it may work in his/her county were one always needs to be on the look out to survive the rat race!
Surprisingly, it seems like not everyone is falling for this scam that this fraudster is pulling. So now a statement was issued asking for donations from poor suckers — we knew this was the ploy all along — just throw dirt on projects — see if it sticks and if it does good else pretend to know nothing!
Now that crypto market is at a low and good ICO’s are few and far in between this seems to be a new ploy. This very sophisticated online blackmailing service where an individual or group of individuals ambush projects using questionable tactics to extract money from founders. And if they do not pay then throw dirt and see if it sticks.
It is unfortunate that bitcoin talk allows such behavior but we are no one to judge — we have provided proof of anobtc dishonest behavior and devious methods. I am sure there are many luckily we have not encountered them yet. We believe that crypto people are smart and do not fall for scammers like this!
A big question is — is this individual credible and why on earth would anyone trust him/her?
