Stand up to Hanson! No to Racism! — LIVE REPORT

Source: Wardenclyffe Photography

As part of my university studies this semester I was required to film an event and report to camera as though I were covering the event live, being transmitted back to a studio and in homes all across Australia.

Along with my partner Tom, I covered an anti-Pauline Hanson rally which occurred on the corner of Bourke Street Mall and Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD. It was exhilarating running alongside the rally as they made their way up Swanston Street to the State Library, filming all the way.

Senator Hanson was recently elected to the senate, 15 years after losing her seat during the Howard-years. She’s a highly controversial figure, rallying against immigration and muslim communities in Australia. I’ll let the rally speak for itself though — watch below.
